ALERATEC.COM CUSTOMERS CAN NOW CREATE PERSONAL ACCOUNTS
At Aleratec we don’t think it’s enough just to offer high-quality, innovative products that are reliable and easy-to-use. We think shopping for Aleratec products—including HDD duplicators, USB duplicators, Blu-ray duplicators, Secure Flash Drives, Media and Accessories—should be as pleasant as owning them. So we’ve been working to make sure our online shopping system is as reliable and easy-to-use as our products.
We’re pleased to announce significant enhancements to the shopping experience at Aleratec.com. The checkout process is faster and more efficient thanks to a new registration process, and we now offer the option to securely save credit card information. These improvements will be of special benefit to regular Aleratec.com customers.
Once you register, you will have access to your own personalized customer account area where you can view the status of open orders and order history. The open orders section includes shipping and tracking information. Having access to your order history makes it possible to place repeat orders with just one click.
Don’t worry. Registering as an Aleratec customer does not mean you’ll have to remember another userID and password. OpenID makes it possible to simply use your existing Google, Yahoo or AOL userID and password. You’ll select an existing account to use for signing in, then enter your contact information once and never have to do so again.
Government and business users may prefer to receive notifications from Aleratec at an email address other than the one linked to their Google, Yahoo or AOL user ID. You can edit you email address as you enter your contact information during registration.
Once you have completed the registration process, you can edit your contact information, including your email address, at any time. Just sign in from any page on the Aleratec website using the Sign In link at the top of the page. Once you are signed in, a My Account link will be included at the top of each page. Click on this link and then on the Account Settings tab to edit your contact information, shipping or billing address.
To make shopping even easier, registered Aleratec customers will be able to store information for up to ten debit or credit cards, including the billing address. This saved information is protected through a number of security features including 256-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption and a PCI-compliant platform.
There are additional security procedures in place to protect you against fraudulent use of your information. For instance, after a certain number of failed attempts to enter the correct CVV security code from a credit card, the customer will be required to re-enter all relevant data. Before storing credit card information you will verify that you are using a trusted computer and not a shared computer where your information could be compromised.
Once you have enabled the Saved Cards feature, you will have the ability to access a Saved Cards tab from the My Account link. Here, you can edit card information, add new cards or delete existing cards, and set a preferred card to use by default when making purchases from this store.
You don’t have to create an account to shop at Aleratec.com. You always have the option of purchasing as a “guest,” but you won’t enjoy the convenience that goes along with having your own customer account, and your information will not be saved.
